I think the book is very well written but very poorly constructed. The world building/rules of magic were vague. I didn’t even see any real conflict(the essential to any story) until around page 200. Blake’s prose is wonderful but I got “seasick” trying to figure out who was saying what to whom and when. At one point, Blake describes a magical forms construction as a “spherical globe”. I thought at that time this young author was in desperate need of a better editor. Aren’t globes spherical?
