one of my favs but one that not everyone loves, and that’s because it’s real. it’s not about barbie going on a magical adventure with a talking animal by her side, it’s REAL, it’s her navigating through high school which is something we’ve never seen before. the topics and issues hit close to home and is something almost everyone can relate to. i like how in this movie barbie isn’t perfect. she’s just like us trying to figure out how to get through popularity, friendships, relationships, mean girls and there’s a side of humor with it! the animation is not perfect but barbie isn’t either. it made it charming and honestly didn’t notice until people started complaining about it. go watch it ignore the other bad reviews and try it for yourself!
