If you're immigrating to another country with your partner, you should definitely watch this before you do so. It is a bitter pill to swallow so that you know what you're getting yourself into and be prepared for it. Watch it together and talk over it before packing your luggages together. It really resonates me as immigrating to another country did brought various different challenges especially most of the time you're alone in some foreign land with different cultures, not to mention what even happened and missed while you were away from homeland. The osts are great, so as the actors. Came across and watched this from knowing Kentaro Sakaguchi from The last 10 years and Kimi to 100-kaime no koi, his acting never disappoints. Well, you just have another two more great movies to follow on if you haven't watched them yet.

So glad I found this, what a masterpiece. It is well-made adaption, so happy the way it was presented on the screen being perfect A movie to cry for and remind us how we should not give up our life easily. There are way more people in this world struggling to live with physical and mental difficulties yet there are always people who complain how terrible their life is without going around the world figuring they are actually the blessed ones. A movie to find yourself back again when you are about to give up in life...

I watched this 8 years later (in 2024) and am still mind-blown by how well this movie was made, everything was perfect and this is another kind of romance that blows your mind and is equally heart painful as well. Well done to the actors, producers and all the crews involved. This is one of the examples of how Japanese romance forever has its own special place unchallengeable no matter in which era it is.

A 10/10 Japanese drama that closely shows the relationship you develop with your housemate when you're living alone in a foreign place with just another person in the house... You just tend to hang out more often, rely on and get attached to each other more than you think... What makes this drama more interesting is the career and life hardships they are individually going through and when you need each other the most, things just aren't gonna be in the way you wanted and your partner just isn't there (yea it always happens for some reason in real life)...
