I loved Summer Heights High, We Can Be Heroes and Jonah from Tonga, so I thought I'd enjoy Lunatics too. Sadly, this is not the case. The humour is somewhat forced and desperate; it lacks the creative spark Lilley had in his earlier works and it seems as though the characters he's created are more him clutching at straws than providing the audience with well-thought-out content. I gave up by episode three. Lilley has aged considerably (a given of course) but it doesn't bring an advantage to his new characters (such as the teenage boy) ... it's a shame Lilley hasn't brought what he usually does to the table with this series.
