I tend to like detective shows. While watching Homicide Hunter: American Detective S1E3 has upset me to the point that I believe the show should apologize to every single person affected with cerebral palsy like myself. The show allowed inaccurate information regarding cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is know as a snowflake condition because it affects everyone differently. Just because a person with CP is nonverbal, that doesn’t mean that they are unaware of their surroundings or have impaired memory. The narrator or writer should be ashamed of themselves. They made it seem as though everyone with CP has the same physical impairments and or communication issues. I happen to be a successful healthcare professional who is outraged by the lack of research/fact checking of a tv program. It’s unforgivable.
