This book is a good read. It goes through emotion and pain. Joy McCullough showed her visions of rape through this amazing story. Myself being a young female teen made this book open up that there is things going on in people lives. Also, the fact that I myself have been through almost the same thing that the amazing character Artemisia did, gave me a more powerful voice to speak up for myself. To tell people to back off and not touch me. There are reasons that a female my age should read this book. I'm so glad that the worker at my library pointed me to where this book was, because now i'm more aware of what happens to me. Thank you Joy McCullough, Artemisia, Judith, Susanna for making me realize that i can stand up for myself.
