I'd like to state this is my first time leaving a review on a movie, especially one where I am not saying it's the best movie but did its intended purpose. A lot of the "negative" reviews are from people who walked into the theater or kicked back on the couch anticipating some top-of-the-line horror film. From the trailers, it is beyond OBVIOUS that is going to be a comical slasher film and while as many people have pointed out, the acting wasn't great, it also felt campy enough that it may have been intentional (I will admit, I don't know if the acting/scriptwriting was meant to be so bad lol) but anyways, the movie did its purpose. It was overly dramatic and not realistic.... but of course it was, that was the whole point of the movie. No one should've walked into that theater watching a trailer and seeing someone get stabbed in the ears with corn on the cob holders and thought this was going to be some S-tier-level horror film. Simply put, this was an intended slasher film and they hit their intended goal. Whether there is going to be a sequel is up in the air, they left it a possibility for either. I think they should leave the movie here as this is a film where it's a one-and-done deal and it's likely the sequel will be much worse just because they put less effort in. Anyway, I would've preferred to give it a 3.5/5 but a 4/5 will do, I hope this review helped someone and enlightened them as to what to expect. Don't expect a 100-million-dollar budget, top-of-the-line actors, and the best acting ever, it has mediocre acting borderline cheesy deaths, and dramatized violence. Overall, would recommend a watch... at least once.
