More like four and a half Stars. Adding my 2¢ worth because there are only 145 contributors to the rating of this 54 year old movie, & it deserves one more. This movie brims with comedy, joie de vivre, philosophy, satire, bittersweetness, & insights into the ethos of the 1970s. The cherry on top is an outstanding soundtrack by Cat Stevens.

Overrated. Occasionally amusing but still FLUFF. Don't waste your time. This is a hole with no donut surrounding it. If you absolutely don't have anything better to do with a couple of hours and want to turn off your mind, this is the movie for you. Almost as amusing as watching paint dry.

A stunning movie of introspection and warmth. It's an intriguing glimpse into an Irish woman's existence in the 1950s in New York City. Still a joy to watch on more than one occasion. The critics, both professional and amateur, got it right this time.

The second review showing up on the Google reviews from Rykley Galinsky states, "don't waste your time." Don't believe it! Nothing could be further from the truth. This is a reviewer who can't appreciate what an outstanding movie this is, which is backed up by numerous professional & amateur reviewers. I've seen it numerous times, and it never gets old.

Yes, the audience rating of 4 1/2 stars is closer to what this movie should be than the other two to a rating services.

I don't understand the high ratings. There are long boring periods or nothing of importance transpires. I found myself fast forwarding many times in order to get to some action. I relied upon Wikipedia's synopses to determine if any one episode was worth the time. I'm moving on to something more entertaining after five episodes. Maybe two and a half stars. Very well produced, but unless you're fascinated with the follies of British naval exploration from 150 years ago, it's not worth the time.

Two and a half to three stars is about right. Empty calories. Mid 50 year olds playing 20 year olds as spies, chasing hither, thither and yawn.

What an outstanding movie! It touched my heart, and it will touch yours, too, if you have one.

This is an outstanding sci-fi movie! The ratings aggregators have really blown it, especially Rotten Tomatoes, which loses credibility when it is so far off the mark.
