I particularly like Olivia Coleman and Anjana Vasan. The strength of the film is the story-telling of a very simple plot. Olivia Coleman is a scene stealer and I loved her character particularly in the end when she realized she is finally free of her awful father. Anjana Vasan has to be a master of mime as she conveys much with not so many words but her facial expressions says it all. This film is set in 1920s England so I was stumped with the decision to cast a black judge and an Indian (Anjana Vasan) to play Woman Police Officer Moss! I have nothing against ethnics playing roles but casting needs to be authentic to that era. As I said, I do like Anjana Vasan very much but feeling she might be miscasted, so I am giving it 4 stars.
