This is not a good movie. It’s maddening to see so many positive reviews (which is what lured me into watching) so I’m compelled to spread a warning to someone like me from two hours ago. Nothing notable happened in the entire film despite the consistently tense background music. I didn’t want anything for any of the characters because there was hardly even a proper conflict in the story. The epic “twist” ending is just an off-screen death (seriously). “Beautiful cinematography” is just code for long shots of the landscape of New Zealand (not even Montana-ish). Surely this movie is trying to say something profound about toxic masculinity (hell, maybe it did) but as far as basic storytelling goes, it is an irredeemably pretentious and hollow film.

This game auto saves at horrible moments, and doesn’t offer a load option in game. I’m regularly forced to quit to the main menu and manually reload, but selecting load actually prompts you to save the game?? Once I’ve done battle with the ui to get back in, the world is completely different from when I saved, notably my samurai is elsewhere and whatever I was doing is long gone. Makes world immersion similar to tetris or pong. Meh/10.
