Easily the most insufferable 2 hours of my life. This movie is NOTHING like what everyone claims it is and will NOT match your expectations. The start is boring and generic but escalates quickly so I guess that's that. But everything after that is so slow-paced, drawn out, and BORING. The writing is atrocious and I'm so confused about why this movie's so well-acclaimed. The cameraman must've been drunk since every single shot gives me a headache and the title makes no sense either.
"Thirteen".
..?
Try "Sixteen". !! Since it would've been A LOT more fitting and made more sense considering the main characters don't look like, act like, or live the lifestyles of normal middle schoolers. And I understand it's about growing up too fast, but it's so insanely exaggerated and the writing is so bad that it makes 0 sense and does a horrible job of representing it. The "growing up too fast concept" is so stretched to the point it's kind of disgusting and even I felt uncomfortable watching. But yet, at the end of the day, there's no way middle schoolers would be or be allowed to do the things done in the movie. It's a reach. It's also full of racial stereotypes and the ending is so abrupt (NOT in a good way) and just downright horrible. It's a perfect example of movies for fake deep people. PS. Nothing like mean girls !! Don't watch.
