The 25 year jump was a bit dramatic, but I loved the animation style and world building—the creatures in the “strange world” were so unique! All the details that were reminiscent of the human body, and various creatures (such as the flying tardigrade-like animals) were fun to spot.
Disney is beginning to follow in Netflix’s steps with having a more inclusive cast, which is wonderful for kids, teens and adults as they can watch a family-friendly movie and see people like them. I don’t find it to be too much, if anything Disney were precautions when taking the first leap to multiculturalism and the main character, Ethan, doesn’t even kiss his boyfriend. It was very cutesy, quite fitting for a PG rated movie. Lots of stuff for kids and adults alike to enjoy!
