After reading the book I was so excited to watch this movie. But it’s honestly disappointing. I understand changing the characters or certain plot points to simplify things but I feel like this movie was a complete departure for the book. Where was Louis or Armand? Or even the story of the twins which was the main meat of the book and was, at least for me, the thing that made the queens death so sweet. There was so many other things that I wish they could have added in and make the movie so much more special or memorable but they did none of that. I think maybe if I didn’t read the book I would have given it a good 2/5 but seeing what it could have been made it that much more devastating. Save your time and don’t watch it (especially if you have read the book)
