Within the first fifteen minutes I thought, “this is either going to be really good or god awful.”
It was so bad and not even campy bad where you can laugh and enjoy just how bad it is. The people claiming that the painfully unrealistic plot should be dismissed since this is fiction (I won’t demean the word and call it entertainment) are wrong- this isn’t some paranormal or sci-fi escapism where the ludicrous plot and it’s holes are excused since you’re indulging in a bit of fantasy.
This show is meant to be a psychological thriller, suspenseful and provocative, making you think twice about every set of twins you encounter. It wants you to believe that this could actually happen. Spoiler alert: it could not.
The writing is atrocious, even with some solid actors there is nothing to be done with the flat, detached dialogue or the unsubstantial character development; this disjointed series is too much and not enough at the same time. Too much exposition but not enough substance.
I couldn’t bring myself to quit the show after reading all the reviews that some “Ah ha!” epiphanic moment would occur during episode 5, I was determined to stick it out. There is no big reveal. It confirms what the series was already setting up for the viewer. Predictable and almost lazy, the utter lack of quality in this content is an insult to viewers. Save yourselves and your brain cells, be proud to say you had the intellect and insight never to have seen one moment of this fantastic failure.
