Absolutely amazing book which gives many clues as to the author’s psychology and resilience without ever spelling it out and being preachy. A light touch and dry sense of humour weave a golden thread through a grim tale of perseverance in the face of terrifying odds, of horror and loss and of bravery and camaraderie. Beautifully articulated.
