Another cliche movie that tries to jump on the bandwagon of topical events surrounding the oppression of black people but the message is unclear. We are led to believe the leads are phd candidates but at the same time with stereotypical qualities of doing drugs, skipping class, loving rap music, and using the excuse “we are black” at every chance they get for a rationale. They can’t do the right thing because “we are black” so it justifies trying to dump a body somewhere so they can finish doing drugs and going to parties. I am not sure what message the writers are trying but if it’s supposed to be a comedy than I get it but throwing in topical ideas and the “woe is my race” in the movie just made me nauseated. I was honestly enjoying the movie until I was beat in the face with black this and black that.
