"Friends, Brutus is a noble man".
So do we know that Ridley Scott WAS a great filmmaker who directed movies like Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator and others. Now he has made a biopic named Napoleon. While making this movie Scott probably forgot that Napoleon was not a mere name. It's a phenomenon where lots of hope and aspirations of common people are being imbued. Without studying Napoleon the great properly or without mentioning his splendourus war victory like that of Ulm/ Austerlitz/ Jena and Friedland or his master stroke as an administrator like Code Napoleon or Concordat one should never venture with this project.
But friends, as all we know, Ridley Scott was a great movie maker and nothing can be said against him.
Here 49 years old Joaquin Phoenix has portrayed 23 years impeccably handsome young Napoleon. Does Scott has got the right to make such vitriolic lampoonering
against that mythical hero?
Against that greatest general of History called Napoleon? The answer is simply NO. But no doubt Scott was supposedly a great filmmaker.
Napoleon 's corpse is now lying before you. Romans ,Citizens and Netizens of the whole world, see those bleeding wounds the last one being inflicted by Scott himself.
But friends, Scott was a noble man. That's why he has become SIR Ridley Scott.
However, a half baked movie with horrible acting on the part of the hero and half truth History can never be able to nudge an inch of that great personality of all time from the mind of sincere movie goers.
