Superb film, portraying a man's delight in the partaking of daily simple pleasures and taking pride in performing simple tasks well. It calls into question our current society's obsession with wanton consumerism, the desire for a delusional sense of popularity as well as our intangible disposable relationship with the arts. The message here is the futility in our reliance on technology and our desire to "fit in" to fill what can only be a bottomless pit of meaningless contentment. The real joys and pleasures in life are found in our relationships, the expression of our true individuality and in meaningful experiences.
