This movie was not all that great to me. It had a strong beginning and ending .. It had no great substance..Should’ve been a lifetime movie. It was too much room for assumption. What demons was she actually fighting that caused her to constantly go to a dark place ? What happened to her father and sisters? The movie ended about forty years before her death.. I would love to know if Aretha approved of this movie. A quick summary would be that she lived a loose life, was mentally unstable, but reached success . The End. I feel this movie did her life not justice, and it actually put a tarnish on her character verses brought honor to her. I feel they used great actors and actresses, but they were not the ones for the parts.
