The film is overall lacklustre at best. Brie Larson is wooden and the attempts at humour are ridiculously inane and puerile.
The feminist sub-plot to show how evil men are and how strong women are is childishly done and the script leaves a lot to be desired. I was left with the feeling that the character was arrogant, spoiled and almost completely self absorbed. If that was the writers aim, well done... Mission achieved
It's a shame, because there are some good moments in the film, the character didn't have to be as deliberately unlikable as she was made to be and the strong, female heroine has been done a lot better, see Wonder Woman for example.
Hopefully the next incarnation of Captain Marvel in the upcoming Avengers movie will be more bearable.
