Awful. Every character is an unlikable moron. Are you supposed to root for the main character as she systemically destroys her family as she jaunts about Ibiza "solving" her brothers murder? She literally ends her marriage by shagging some random bloke she's just met before suddenly blaming him for it? Then she is kidnapping him and torturing him? She is absolutely awful as a character. No one else fairs much better. The plot is propelled by 600 people's collective amnesia from a party so good they literally all, to a man, forgot everything that happened. Ridiculous. As for the main family in charge of the clubs... At least it was funny. The whole son fancies his mother thing was as hilarious as it was total cringe. It didn't go anywhere though. It was absolutely pointless in regards to the plot. The whole thing is a poorly written cringy mess. Avoid this like the Plague.

Am I reading the same book as everyone else? Flat 2D characters Ridiculously evil for no reason "Light Eyes" Obvious plot beats and predictable ending The length of this book is something else. It's 800 pages long and the story could have been done in 300. How Sanderson has dragged this out to this ridiculous Length is beyond me. Kaladan does the standard hero arc. Along the way he learns the people he hates aren't all the same. He encounters a lot of cartoon villains with the depth of a puddle who are evil because they just love it. Dalinar is very honourable and gets betreyed because of it. The fact this takes 700 pages is staggering. Shallan is meant to be precocious but is just irritating beyond belief. She goes to steal something from the King daughter and shock of all shocks, comes to respect her and stay and help her with her work. 800 pages. Wow. Honestly, for such a simple story this just drags and drags and drags. The world is interesting though and the ending is good, its just a shame it takes so long to get there. The pacing is terrible, the characters boring and 2 dimensional, the story predictable and the length... Oh my god the length. Its absolutely ridiculous.
