One of the most comprehensive video game soundtracks. Every inch of this record is gold. The freeform jazz tracks are masterfully crafted and provide a unique backdrop for the in-game fights. The album includes every track featured in-game (with a few welcome bonuses). While some tracks are mere transitions for in-game cut scenes, they are effective and catchy. The soundtrack is listenable top to bottom outside of the game as well. The whole project stands on its own as a triumph for contemporary jazz. I'd love to see a production video on how this soundtrack was made.
