Wow. I had such high hopes for this movie. I was so excited to see it but then I heard the music. It was awful. The story-line was just pathetic. So, now Cinderella is going to rely on her own wits instead of just marrying the prince, right? What a big surprise that she's into the fashion industry because that hasn't been played like a broken record. Really? She could not have loved science or math, the environment, caring for animals??? Here's the other thing...What a great job they did making this about girl power (not really). Clearly, Cinderella is supposed to be far better looking than her stepsisters (one has freckles, the other one is heavy), so yet again, the same old tropes are used. I thought this was supposed to be a re-make not the same old, tired messages of "women are valued only for beauty and are only here to make men happy". Sheesh!!! Overall, the acting was ok. I loved the fabulous godmother but the other characters were just so-so. India Mendel is ok but I hate that yell-singing she does. It hurts my ears.
