Bland. DiCaprio’s face never moves from one frozen, unattractive expression. Do you call this acting? I expected something magnificent; instead, I found banality. The murders of the Osage are treated as incidentals, when, in fact, they are the crux of the matter. Yes, there is a lot of praise and a lot of noise directed at this film, but if you strip it of the main actors, namely, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, there is a little to hold it together that satisfies the heart and creativity. Let the drum rolls roll… This isn’t the greatest film of the year.
