It's not great. It's not awful. They are rushing it way too much, but considering the length and depth of the story (multiple books with next to nothing happening), it's understandable to see some condensing of the story line. The problem is that they go way overboard with that, and they try and twist it for a modernity that it doesn't fit in.
I'll watch it, but on Amazon it went from 3.4 out of 5 and now it's nearly 5 stars, so it's clear they are cooking the ratings big time. They need to get their stuff together big time for season 2, and if they don't then I could even see them canceling it before it pans out considering it's $10 million per episode. Money that has clearly been squandered in a rush to get out by this holiday season. Disappointed, but I'll watch to see how it unfolds.
