This anime will not spoon-feed you its story.
A.I.C.O. is a futuristic sci-fi anime that may seem confusing at first, and, at times, it can be a bit fast paced. However, if you take the time to digest it, maybe replay a few scenes, and pay attention to the dialogue, you'll be able to understand it without issue.
Once again, it will not spoon-feed you the information nor it will explain for a prolonged period of time. You HAVE to pay attention.
Once you do, it becomes a marvelously enthralling sci-fi series with bizarre science and enigmatic morals regarding humanity and science. To a degree, it's similar to Neon Genesis Evangelion, except it's weirdly just science-y instead of science and religion.
However, it unfolds like a mystery that gives you a small amount of information bit by bit, like a clue finding game. The big reveals and the bizarre imagery are definitely interesting and worth your time.
As a sci-fi geek, I enjoyed it intensely. It's flaws, I'd say, come from the action sequences that are sometimes rather dull (and without any real tension) and the villain (they're rather one-dimensional). Still, the main mystery plot is excellent and worth watching IF you like mystery series that keep you hooked for a big reveal.
8.5/10 - Enjoyable.
