This one took me by surprise. When the twist in the tale arrived, I was somewhat reluctant to continue, but was compelled to discover the giant "why?" that is at the heart of the tale. And the truth is uglier than you can imagine.

Like other books by Elizabeth Hand, Wylding Hall draws you in quickly, like an enchantment. Well researched in regard to music and folklore of Britain.
I blew thru it in a few hours...satisfying read.
