This was a terrible representation of non-verbal autistic people. I do NOT recommend you watch this movie. Sia casted Maddie Ziglier, a nurotypical woman to act like a non verbal. I only watched this movie because I did not want to rate off of reviews. I’m not understanding how people are giving positive reviews. Maddie throughout the movie mimics the “stereotypical autism person” and symbolizes having Tourettes by constantly ticking. There are sudden flashes of light, sound, and colours. Which can be very hard for autistic people to watch/hear. In the movie, Music has ‘breakdowns’ which are handled by her guardians jumping on top of her while pinning Musix down to the ground which DOES NOT help them calm down. If anything it’s makes them panic more. There are plenty more things I could go on about but hopefully you have seen other comments and get an idea of the negative and horrible things that are represented in the film. I no longer will support Sia and Maddie for producing and taking on the role. I would have givin this movie 0 stars but to post something you have to have at least one Please do not watch this movie unless you want to feel extremely mad
