Everyone seems to be giving this one star because it is historically inaccurate or five stars because it is an utterly brilliant comedy. I don't think it merits either. I did not know that it was based on a true story so feel you can only judge it on how it came over before that was announced at the end. Yes, there were a few black faces that would not have been there then and you feel that some prejudice would have been shown. Yes, there were some genuinely funny moments and not only from the cast of British stalwarts coming out with some prime language. There were a few nice emotional scenes too, the period atmosphere was good and all the cast were excellent.. They must have have had a real laugh making it. Started off intending to sit on the fence and give it three stars. But it was very watchable so worth four I think.
