Once again Netflix took a wonderful book series and turned it into garbage! While keeping the basic plot line and names of the people in the book the same (for the most part) they made the characters shallow and uninteresting. The duke and Lady Danbury became more jovial, the Bridgerton brothers (Benedict and Colin)are shallow, Violet Bridgerton is not the strong mother who has the respect and love of her children, Eloise acts like a 12 year old boy, and Anthony is a disgusting jerk who disrespects his mother, sister, and women in general. Why aren't more women angry at his treatment of the women in his life (especially the one he has sex with on the side of the road with a servant looking on). Apparently the writers struggled to come up with enough material to keep the story going for 8 episodes so they just added characters having sex. Julia Quinn is an amazing author but if the first book had been written like this I would have stopped reading and never read another book. If they didn't have the British baking show I would drop Netflix (which is way over priced for the market)! My conclusion, don't watch the series if you read the book.
