Initially I thought the book was ok . But then it went into a downward spiral. Melodramatic silly and hardly credible. The last hundred pages were particularly painful. Please let this book end and put me out of my misery. How Lee Child endorsed this work is beyond me.

I have just finished reading “The Lincoln Highway “ by Amor Towles . A remarkable piece of literature and a fascinating study of human kind . It took me back to the school days of Huckleberry Finn and his social commentary as he travels down the river. Picaresque in nature it uses the road as its river. The underclass of its protagonists are truly inspiring and unique. The satire and observations of humanity are memorable. The irony of the boat scene ending ,closes the book all signed sealed and delivered. Five stars . Sad but elated when I turned the last page.❤️❤️

Not being a gamer the story left me wondering. So many melodramatic moments without much substance. A soap opera of kiss and tell. The one redeeming factor was the reference and use of Emily Dickinson’s poetry which on turning the first page I thought this story might be something special. I keep reading thinking it might improve but I was wrong.

Started to read “ Be careful what you wish for “ not realising it was part of a series. The ending with an explosion on the ships maiden voyage left everything up in the air. Only to turn the page over to find I needed to read the next two books to complete the saga. I feel cheated that there was no warning that this was a continuation with a series of books to read. Well written but left me feeling annoyed.
