Movie: Three of Us Rating: 4/5 Mere thought of living up to see a day when we would remember nothing from the past or the present itself scares the wits out of us. And that is worse than death! But that's what Dementia can do to you! Handling a delicate topic like Dementia, without glorifying all the pain and sorrow around it, or without getting into too much of specifics, is not a skill that many storytellers master. However here, Director Avinash Arun takes you on a heart-warming trip down the memory lane with Shailaja Desai/Patankar (Shefali Shah) whose memory is fading away with each passing day. She decides to visit Vengurla, a town in Konkan, Maharashtra, with her husband, where she spent the most memorable four years of her childhood. Rest of the story revolves around her bittersweet memories of that place and the people whom she left behind many years ago. Amongst them is her long lost love interest, Pradip Kamat (Jaideep Ahlawat), whom she meets after she arrives in Vengurla, and hence the name "Three of Us". The chemistry between Shailaja and Pradip is palpable and sweet. A few moments between them go unspoken, yet their eyes speak a thousand stories. Cute! Shailaja's journey from realisation to redemption and her desperate efforts to treasure the moments once more, before her memories turn into a blank slate, is poignant and leave you sentimental. Picturesque locations of Konkan do a full justice to the plot, topped by equally stellar performances by Shefali and Jaideep. The only downside to the movie is the sluggish pace. Its too slow in some of the frames. Beautifully woven into the fabric of emotions, the movie ends on a touching note. No glamour, No jazz! Pure content! Definitely worth a watch!
