天啊！有必要弄我哭得這麼慘嗎？！ 然後又逗我笑得那麼溫馨。太棒了。 One of the best animation movies I've seen in recent years for so many reasons. It captured the emotional struggles of left-behind children and the seemingly impossible hope of their parents, juxtaposing the idyllic country living and barely surviving in the city, all powered by the courage of small-town dreaming—personified in the pursuit of becoming a lion-dance performer. What a feat. What an inspiration.

Possible spoiler alerts!!! "It (fill in your own catastrophe) didn't finish us off. We did that to ourselves." The words hit so hard and cut so deep. On the surface, Finch is a movie about love and honesty, but not in the traditional sense. It's about one man's love to protect his best friend and recognizing how he's been given a chance to right a wrong. But one would be remiss to not draw parallels from the current state of the world: Humanity had a chance to start over and do better. Unfortunately, it was mostly met with a resounding no. Tom Hanks is as usual, brilliant, captivating, and entertaining. Dewey, Goodyear, and Jeff are wonderful co-stars. If the plot feels rudderless, it only mirrors the post-apocalyptic lawlessness and unpredictability. The world has ended after all.
