Not the fault of the actors - both of whom did a stellar job - but the plot is atrocious. Truly awful - dreary & repetitive... an hour and half I can never get back. We kept hoping it would improve, but it never did. 85 minutes of 1930's insane mother, enlivened only in the very last 5 minutes with contemporary scenes of Lowry's work hung in modern galleries.
