Chea Does-Things

This film was so campy and fun. It's giving Nanny MacPhee. Such an easy, turn-your-brain-off watch!

Honestly such a grounded, feel good movie. It was really well written and all the characters felt like very real people with all the decisions they made (however messy).

This was a fantastic watch and I finished in one sitting. I can definitely see how it may not be everyone's cup of tea but it was worth the 3 hours to me. Though it is in the survival category it was much more character driven than it was based off of the main leads survival. I've seen a few reviewers calling Liv (the mc) stupid, as well. I disagree. She's a lawyer. She grew up in NYC. She'll have basic survival skills/knowledge such as "don't drink water straight from a stream" and "don't spend extended periods of time in cold water naked" but I promise you she will not know how to build proper shelter or hunt. Expecting that from her given her character type is a mistake on the viewers part and she was appropriately clueless when she needed to be. My only gripe with this show is that we suffered a whole lot for very little payoff. *SPOILERS* She gets rescued in like the last 10 seconds of the show and I'd have loved to at least see her make it to a hospital or something before we said goodbye after spending 3 hours with her trying to get out of the place she was stranded and going through all her traumatic history. Start of her healing both emotionally and physically, yk? Overall, a really good experience. Don't Be discouraged by the reviews.

This show was (despite what the media might say) honestly quite fun? The premise is intriguing, the characters are all different, and the relationships between them even more so. The chemistry between the two leads was absolutely lovely, something I can't say for another show that premiered recently, and I can say the same for the chemistry between the rest of the cast as well. The Burns felt very much like a close knit, no nonsense family who know who they are and what they're about. The Fairmonts, on the other hand, were a classic dysfunctional family that was perfect on the outside but hanging on by THREADS on the inside. And even so? The thing that they had in common with each other was their love and devotion to their family members (except the twins because... whew, iykyk). Talia Burns was definitely my favourite character and the actress who plays her did a FANTASTIC job. Overall, I give it a 3.7/5 simply because it wasn't the most... visually appealing (in terms of VFX) and the stunt choreography and line delivery (FOR MINOR CHARACTERS) was a bit awkward and stiff at times. I hope it gets a second season because I'm interested to know more about the world!
