I hate this kind of movie. You pick a nonfat actor to portray what it's like living as a fat person and the plot is horrendous and miserable. Like there's no fulfillment or redemption for this man. But that's definitely not how it is in real life for fat people. Yuck. Also the other characters are unlikeable. I don't really care if ppl think it takes a shot at Christianity. I care that the nuanced experiences of plus size people was so poor represented

*sigh* I wanted to like this so badly! The casting was on point, Abra and Rose were played very well! The way we get to know the true knot through their collective child murder is also well done but the depart from the book in the last half was unforgivable for me. I can't explain further without giving away spoilers but I could have done entirely without the second half. The killing off of folks that don't die in the book makes no sense either.
