Sensational backstory that builds on and defines the mythology of the series. George Miller is an absolute genius storyteller. Whereas Fury Road is a straight up action film, Furiosa is a heady, cerebral exercise in post postmodern myth making, told in chapters. It's a film that knows that the audience has been following along, and so it can get right into story without much effort. Beautifully shot and edited, Furiosa is a tour de force whose characters live in a parched world of pain in which humans are reduced to living in holes in the ground, and in desperate caves.
