Like the Dune Novel(s) the movie is like vintage Herbert; hHs novels use 1000 pages to tell a 500 page story and Villeneuve uses nearly 3 hours to on a 2 hour movie. The characters are boring and flat which is a shame - the cast is extremely talented and full of established stars along with the brightest up and comeres. I loves the first part and had such high hopes part two would be as good but as much as I wanted to love it I couldn't succeed. I saw this in the theaters and I was fighting to stay awake, my husband ( who loves Dune!) did fall asleep. I hope part three will have actual, character development and dialogue. Please useyour actors and actresses!

I really enjoyed this thoughtful take on Robert the Bruce's life during the winter he hid from the English. This movie is not a rousing film like Mel Gibson's Braveheart; rather, an emotional and personal tending of Bruce's life.
