I saw this again in 4K at the cinema on its Valentine’s Day release. I had forgotten how beautiful it is. How it’s framed like a tableau and the different varied tone of the performances. It still leaves me thinking about ievery time. Had forgotten how stylised it was but it doesn’t distract from the little mini masterpieces. I have changed but the film has not and yet even this different version of myself I still love it !

Beautifully filmed. Excellent intelligent plots. This has so many more interesting stores to tell with a la Carre feel. Emilia Fox is great right down to acting with with her eyes. She embodies the role. Great cast. Make more and more please

Like this. A nice take on A ‘TV Movie’ type of Christmas film. Not too saccharine and nice music. Good performances

A glance into Hollywood in its Golden Age with all the cynicism that was not often visible in its screen product of the time and none of the sentimentality that was. Quite possibly one of the best films made about Hollywood. Very long but not overly with a length befitting its ultimate subject - the writing of Citizen Kane. Great casting with outstanding performances from Oldman and Seyfried and support cast. A gem. Four Stars because I wanted to know Mank a little more.

I agree with another reviewer that Marisa Bela is sensational in her acting not to mention her strikingly similar voice to Amy. I did not think that anyone could reflect Amy’s exceptional vocal tones. This film left me thinking a lot on that period of time and Amy’s life. I know those streets so well. She was an exceptional talent who did not really have the tone to fully mature into the woman she may have become. We all lost when Amy left us. I feel for her. She deserved more. The film is very well done. I would have like to see more of Amy’s other friends and life but I appreciate there’s only so much story you can tell in 2 hours. This is a wonderful tribute to Amy, warts and and all and is lovingly told. A truly unique powerhouse lost to the world. Beautifully directed and performed.

This is a fantastic Superhero film. It’s clever, scary, a good thriller, dark but also funny too. And it’s a bonding movie too. Take your teenager daughters to see this film so they can see empowered female superheroes. It’s also a great time shifting concept and honours the comic boos if not exactly following the exact story. Don’t be put off by the negative reviews. The comic book universe audience traditionally seems to bad mouth female superheroes, sometimes justified, sometimes not. They are fine as a sidekick but don’t dare to lead etc. I remember all the bad mouthing of The TV series Supergirl not making enough viewers blah blah when in fact it made much more money in Franchise and streaming than its counterparts on TV. Highly recommended and I hope they make a sequel. The usual critics will say otherwise but you know who they are - same old die hard critics blah blah

A hot warming and touching film, in all the right ways, which showcases the brilliance and songbook of The Beatles. The film also stands alone as warm, funny and resonates the universal thought of ‘what could have been’ in a parallel universe. Highly recommended.

Fresh, exciting and clever. Let’s slow down a bit sometimes though. Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gil are brilliant.

This film is a fantastic behind the scenes look at Hollywood TV in the 1950s. A must see. I read a little further on Desilu, the Desi/Lucille production company they formed. In later years she ran it before selling it on for a small fortune with it then transforming into ParamountTV. Who knew! Talented lady indeed. I think Nicole Kidman is brilliant in this role. I would have liked to know what made Desi tick a little more and more on what happened next rather than this specific narrow event and period but that said, it’s still an engaging film that leaves you wanting more.

Definitely a time when people need to start questioning again, Don’t be put off by critics; this a great film worth watching! Great casting too. It has opened up the original trilogy for me again - something I was not able to face after the conclusion of part 3. Thank you Lena W.
