I've never read anything like this book. At the same time as being an incredible feat of the imagination,
it was so immersed in the stark reality of what it would have been like to be a black American slave before the American civil war.
The Underground Railroad is a must read for any lover of literature and well deserving of the Pulitzer prize for it's author, Colson Whithead.
