A detective for our times is Van der Valk. This series a love letter to Amsterdam. Great casting, acting and cinematography bring each episode to life. Each one deals with serious subject matter but the series generally and the characters manage to not take themselves too seriously. Great soundtrack too. Clearly, some of the best filmmakers and crew worked on this production. I can't wait for season 3. Tell me there's a season 3.

I liked season 1 a bit better because it seemed less 'manufactured' in how it's edited. But still liking season 2 with 5 contestants left. I just cannot stand Larry. He drives me crazy. Such a whinger with that nasally voice and hates on everything all the time and gets angry all the time with everything. He's actually weird the way he hates that mouse so much! Poor mouse! I want to see him gone. Nicole is such a contrast to Larry. She loves the place and has only respect for all the other living creatures there. She is in harmony with her surroundings. She's a pleasure to watch and deserves to win.
