I have read the books. So has my wife. We discussed it at some length. It’s enjoyable. But… I agree with the comment that the casting of A list actors, coupled with it being a film rather than the six episodes I think it needed did not work. It’s inevitable that you don’t engage in a 2 hour film as you would in a novel but I had hoped for better.Perhaps that was naive. Is it cynical to suggest that this was a matter of throwing an array of A list actors at it and it was bound to reap rewards?
