Darkly atmospheric and disturbing. The excellent Cillian Murphy is haunted by his knowledge of cruelty to "fallen girls" at the local Roman Catholic Magdalene Shelter and memories of his own bleak childhood. Emily Watson mesmerizes as the monstrous "Mother Superior" nun ever persecuting the unfortunate inmates. Unable to calm his conscience he takes drastic action as the movie reaches a dramatic climax.

Highly watchable drama exposing racial hate tensions in Southern States USA. Halle Berry loses Diddy, her African American partner to a Correctional Institution electric chair execution. In a twist of fate she unknowingly encounters and dates Billy Bob Thornton, an officer who was present at and witnessed the inmates horrendous death convulsions. A tale of redemption and acceptance with includes raunchy sex scenes, probably suitable for an exclusively adult audience.

A storyline of regressive and progressive tweaks in time sees Shannon Doherty experiencing tragic events in her relationship with two men. She questions her own sanity as events foretold in her mind unfold before her with devastating consequences. Quite frankly, an implausible plot which lurches from scene to scene leaving viewers more confused than entertained!

Unconvincing drama with stilted acting performances. Delinquent Tate Deweys punishment for his conman activities is to be assigned to assist his ageing Alzheimer's stricken grandmother. To be fair, the movie somewhat endears itself to the viewer as the pair unexpectedly and affectionately bond. "All's well that ends well" as the roguish young man finds fulfillment and departs from his previously nefarious lifestyle.

James Gandolfini and wife Melissa Leo are convincing as a couple devastated by the death of their teenage daughter in a car crash. They find healing through trying to rescue vulnerable young stripper prostitute Kristen Stewart from a rapidly downward spiriling lifestyle. Some genuinely touching scenes but the movie somehow may not quite live up to viewers expectations!

Almost certainly the best gangster movie of all time. An unfolding story of treachery, street violence and revenge associated with the "Corleone" mafia family. Marlon Brandon, Al Pacino and James Caan in particular offer the mesmerizing performances which have earned "The Godfather" a unique iconic status in the history of cinematic entertainment.

Now dated nineties movie which doesn't quite "hit the mark" for entertainment value. Irish American conmen Bill Paxton and Mark Whalberg embark on a series of illicit money making schemes which inevitably end in grotesque violence. Sultry Julianna Margulies provides the romantic interest and somewhat rescues a movie which probably won't live long in the memory!

The ultimate classic western! Alan Ladd playing the lead role of "Shane" tries to shake off his previous life as a gunfighter by working for harrassed Homesteader Van Heflin. Tension over territorial water access boils over when a local cattle baron hires his own gunfighter Jack Palance for a final showdown to settle the duspute. A wonderfully scenic mountainous backdrop and accompanying musical score also lends towards this movie's now legendary status!

This is a nightmare vision of society decimated by the "rage virus". Surreal empty street scenes, silent suburbia stalked by vicious nocturnal blood salivating zombies. A daily trial of survival with the movie plot enhanced by tense musical undertones. Gory climax when the virus surfaces in an army run citizens safe area and reaps blood curdling consequences from the infected!

The "rage virus" has resurfaced. Sit back and enjoy the tension as a handful of survivors from a London American military run establishement were the outbreak occurs escape and dodge pursuing blood thirsty zombies. Special mention to Robert Carlyle who excelled in his role as one of the crazed salivating red eyed undead!
