I personally dislike this book, but I acknowledge the effort the writer had put in anyway. I think the book is a bit "messy", the first time I read it I felt a bit lost as I was confused by the sudden flashbacks. As a book for analysis (HSC bruh!) it would be nice to have more themes. Moreover, this book has no chapters, making it harder to revisit the specific moments I want to look into. To be brutally honest, the first part of the book is just meaningless yap to me, which I don't find it that helpful to the build-up of the story. The number of quotes regarding the emphasis on brotherhood and dysfunctional family are quite limited and not that apparent. Not only they are not easy to find, they are straightforward (i.e. I don't have much to analyze about it, which of course is not good for me as I need to yap about this sh*t in HSC bro). Also, it would be great to have more language techniques as a book chosen for HSC. Overall, the plot isn't that bad, but I just don't like it. Maybe I will like it more if I read it to kill time, not for educational purposes
