TL;DR 2/10 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet look absolutely awful, have glaring performance issues, and feel clunky to play. The new Pokemon and world seem passable but with these issues the game does not feel good to play. Even for Pokemon this thing is pretty egregious. I've been a longtime fan and while even the most recent entry (Legends Arceus) was a step in the right direction i did not think it was up to par with Nintendo and Pokemons high expectations set by the likes of both Zelda entries on the same console. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet take it to another deep low point. The game suffers massive framerate issues all the time, has buggy shadows and pokemon, ugly textures and environments, and indeed is just an ugly game. Honestly it looks more like a cheap rip off of a Pokemon game than a real Pokemon game. Its pretty sad that the largest media franchise in the world can't make a half decent game. If you are considering buying this game, I would strongly advise against and recommend you put your time and money into anything else.
