I loved it. I loved the actors. I loved that Jake would charge into a room full of armed men and always come out unscathed. Yes, there was an intangible high school production quality to the whole thing, which I found uniquely and artistically interesting. It had a sort of deliberately staged ‘Deadpool’-style violence, but not as irritating. Like watching a whole movie that’s in the style of a video game intro.
