This series was a true salute to Edgar Allen Poe. The way of telling the story was awesomely dramatic. I loved the script in that it was so Shakespearean and executed by the actors so precisely. Truly a masterpiece and will be popular for many years to come. Of course not everyone likes scary stories, but they may come over to my side with this production.

This movie was engrossing and caught my eye immediately. The story stayed close to the book- I know that movies have to cut information down because of the time element. I am not an experienced film critic, but this film had me going! The actors drew me in and the special effects were superb. I liked the ending as it identified humans as weak and selfish, but also would do the right thing. I hope some of Stephen King’s other stories can be executed as well as this one.

As I am old I have found that I enjoy action movies that get me moving. This is the age of empowerment for women. Jennifer Lopez does a good job. But it takes a good crew to make a movie work. The bad guys were really bad. The director was good and plot great. The editing wonderful. I also like tearjerker movies. Deserves more than 3.3. Hope this raises the bar.

Pretty intense and interesting. The story swapped back and forth smoothly and the neighbor explained what happened so the audience didn’t get lost. The barbarians were very realistic and in the end the victims also became barbarians. A succinct comment on our society was made with this film.

I agree with the reviewer below who dislikes the movie. There is nothing good about it. Hope that no mentally challenged kids watch and get ideas. The movie moved too slowly and the family was resigned to their fate from the beginning and made no attempt to turn the tables on the creeps. I hoped for revenge from family. No such luck. It left me with nightmares.

Such a good watch. Even though I had seen this a few years ago, enjoyed the movie again. I had forgotten how talented Cusack and Jackson are. Stephen King is an awesome writer, I have read many of his stories and he still scares me 😱. Hope to see another one. Thanks - signing off.

This movie was very well done 👍 I agree with some of the reviewers and adding that it was indeed spot on. One of the reviews stated that the movie was not a good movie and poorly acted and lazily directed. I don’t agree. At first I was confused about Gordon sitting in front of his house and not going in. I then got it and realized that he had hurt his family. Then Gordon admitted to Phil he had slapped his wife. Gordon portrays a man slowly going over the edge exquisitely. All the men display the actions of the toxicity in their group very well. This movie will hang in there for years as a popular scary movie. The supernatural element is there also, just under the layers of the asylum and personalities of all the guys. The coins that Hank found came from nowhere. I really think this movie is classic and shows pure talent at its best. Camera work was excellent and the director did a great job. I have thought that in the past the actors, Caruso and Guilfoye in other roles were very accomplished. That said I enjoyed this flick very much and want others to view it also. Okay this story kept my attention. I really thought the character Alex was alive, but sometimes things were a little fuzzy. Now I know the audience was following the story from Anna’s viewpoint but we were rooting for her anyway. Even though we knew she had been in hospital. I got a little tired of her clumsiness however. Like when she knocked the roast on the floor. Also accidentally setting the fire and sister and mom burning. I think a few tweaks and this story would get five stars. Thanks for reading my comments.

I think this movie is pretty good. In the beginning the young folks went overboard with the angst and cussing and in-house fights. As the story progresses the characters showed more organized progress towards a plan to get off the mountain. The foundation characters were very good with the threats and action. The direction showing glimpses of violence rather than closeups was great. Our heroine of course was strong and showed bravery throughout, especially about her father and family. I love Matthew Modine and would like to see him in more excellent movies as he is an excellent actor in my humble opinion. I think overall this movie is 4 stars ⭐️

I enjoyed. Loved Jodie Foster. I have been her fan since forever. Liked the whole cast and totally enjoyed the plot and ying and yang of it all. It was gentle and tough. Wouldn’t change a thing and knew she had to stay and not go because she was dedicated and finally worked out her angst about her son. I am a mom and grandma and understand totally. I recommend the film. Maybe even has a touch of The Walking Dead drama, but mostly dark humor. I am all about that Love Ya - Debbie.
