Was really looking forward to watching this film but wish I hadn’t bothered! It was cringey, the story was pretty boring and unoriginal, the jump scares weren’t great. If you’re thinking about watching this especially paying to go in the cinema, I would suggest you save your money. It’s an hour and a half of my life I’ll never get back!

*spoiler free* Judging by a lot of these other reviews I feel like I’m in a minority when I say this. However, I honestly don’t understand the hype this film is receiving. I have watched and enjoyed all the other 5 scream films, so was really looking forward to this. I will give credit to the opening scene I thought that was amazing and something different, and I will say I was very surprised by one of the killers, which is always nice! I enjoyed that it was set in New York, and at Halloween, that was refreshing and something new. Other than that, I honestly found the pacing of the film kind of weird. It went from super dramatic kill scenes to a lot of time spent just moping around. I didn’t feel on edge really at any point during the film, it all just felt quite safe? For me the film just didn’t flow it was so stop and start, and I didn’t really like the killers motive to be honest. I left the cinema feeling quite disappointed. For me, this is one of the worse films in the franchise. I wouldn’t feel compelled to watch it again like I do with the first film or scream 5 which I honestly preferred to this one!
