My first comment is in line with others I've read here..... I think the double was too much to take in at once..... and all the emotions.... it's a little too dark for me all at once.... I mean... some of these songs.... Taylor was MAD
In 2020 I really loved what she did with folklore and evermore.... releasing at separate dates.
After this weekend, I've decided to focus first on the 16 tracks of TTPD. I'm blown away how she can capture feelings we have all experienced.... I'm 61 years old, and could hear myself in my younger years expressing every part of Down Bad to my besties 30 years ago. To me that is so much of her magic, how she connects to emotions everyone knows.
This is not an album for a young audience....my opinion. It's not happy sing along pop. I don't think the young audience can find anything to relate to here, and that's ok. She is allowed to grow as an artist, and she's a grown up now.
This is deep, moody.... and as an adult expresses and hears best. My opinion. I love Fortnite, So Long London , and Who's afraid of Little Old me so far.... I know the more I listen to these 16 I will grab on to more.... it's how it works for me with her albums. Honestly I'm not a fan of her lighter pop songs.... she's always been more deep than that in my eyes... These 16 songs for me need to be heard multiple times to fully appreciate. And then I'll move on to The Anthology 15....but on 1st listen I think those really shine.... evermore worthy.
