Absolutley amazing film and acting. Very powerful and heart breaking portrail of what i hope will always be a genuine shame for the catholic church. That being said it does have another side to this story which is alot more positive the strenth of the human character when it comes to survival of horrific circumstance. The scene with anne marie duff with her on screen brother as she prepares to leave and later leaving the premices refusing to move out of the way of the nun in the hall way are very subtle actions but powerful messages stating you have not beaten me. Especially when you considor the reason her character was sent to the nuns in the first place. Its a perfect example of how it doesnt take big explosive fights and arguments (which are seen all to often now days) to demonstrate strenth 1 small and suble action can be more powerful an rewarding for your own state of mind than any exhibition you could create.
